MGC Lighting Group sent a company e-mail first week of June 2018 enquiring if staff would want to volunteer to take part in a race to raise funds for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospice. MGC Lighting Group are always happy to sponsor charities so naturally everyone was excited to learn about what this race entails.
The company was informed that this race was not to be taken lightly and that competition was to be taken seriously as representatives of MGC. Trials would be tough and at times gruelling but this was in the interest of choosing the fittest, strongest and most endured athletes that MGC has to offer.
June 2nd 2018 – Announcement day. All contenders were excited to learn if they had met the ‘Iron Man’ status and were successful in training for this race as MGC’s dream team! Five names were drawn from a hat namely: Goran, Chris, Craig Ruarn and Darren. These five contenders were honoured, proud and boastful to be MGC’s best!
The following day it was discovered that these 5 staff members were the only 5 names submitted. They should have read the race details! MGC Lighting Group aren’t expecting much from these ‘athletes’ however we do hope they can finish the race. Bets are already in play!
The race takes place on the 14th October 2018 at Wantisden Hall, near Woodbridge in Suffolk. The Whole Hog mud race consists of 25+ obstacles in 5 miles. MGC are raising funds for the East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices. If you would like to sponsor us for this great charity you can do so via our JustGiving fundraising page
The race details can be found here https://wholehograces.co.uk/
The team have been training hard and can now run 2.5 miles out of the 5 miles needed and claim they will be match ready. We Wish them the very best in this competition.
