MGC gets their claws on The Bears Paw Hotel
Ipswich–based international lighting distributor, MGC Lighting were successfully appointed to upgrade the lighting fixtures at The Bears Paw Hotel and Restaurant in Cheshire. The luxury establishment is part of the Nelson Hotel Group, and MGC lighting have played an integral part in their extensive refurbishment project.
Using an effective combination of energy saving LED lighting, including their own Impact brand 3W Golf ball LED’s, the bars and public areas were given a complete transformation. The attractive clear glass design ensure the LED lights not only look great, but perform effectively too, providing a complete 360° illumination. The Megaman's 6W GU10 LED's were also installed to help reduce shadows and dark spots. With an outstanding average life hours of 50,000 they offer a great balance of reliability and performance while also being very cost effective.
To complete the refit the kitchen lighting was completely overhauled. The existing fluorescent tube fittings, were replaced with MGC Lighting's own Impact 42W 5500K cool white LED panels. These unique LED panels are evenly lit throughout the mounted surface which provides all round light distribution without any shadowy effects, making them a perfect replacement and easy to clean.
This project has been part of a successful ongoing relationship with the Nelson Hotel Group, which has seen MGC supply lighting solutions for The Grosvenor Pulford Hotel and Spa and The Fishpool Inn. The company have also been involved in a much bigger refurbishment project, still being undertaken at the Pheasant Inn, and continue to find new and inventive ways to meet their client briefs.
Commenting on the project, Kevan Stiff, UK Sales Area Manager at MGC, said: “I am very pleased to be involved with this project. It’s always been an ongoing task for us to encourage hotels to change over to energy saving LEDs and we hope that this paves the way forward for others to follow. ”
