MGC lights up festival season
MGC Lighting has lit up this summer’s music scene, providing expert solutions to Glastonbury, Latitude, Edinburgh and Isle of Wight festivals.
The innovative lighting provider, which has a wealth of live performance experience, supplied carefully selected solutions to create a range of impressive effects on- and off-stage.
At Glastonbury Festival, MGC supplied lighting to coordinate car park and campsite areas, providing festival goers with easily-navigable paths and walkways. Here, colour-coordinated Impact LED G45 Golfball Lamps provided bright output with a warm glow, in-keeping with the festival’s creative design concepts.
On-stage at Glastonbury GE PAR lamps were used to illuminate a star-studded line-up of performers. Here, bright, single beams were combined with Rosco coloured gels to create an array of dazzling colour effects. Performers at this year’s Glastonbury Festival included The Rolling Stones, Mumford & Sons and Artic Monkeys.
At Edinburgh and Latitude, large outdoor areas like campsites, car parks and walkways were lit with Impact Luvium LED floodlights, providing long-lasting, low-powered, bright light with a wide range. HPL, T-class and CP-class halogen lamps were also used at Latitude to help create impressive effects on-stage.
At all four festivals, including Isle of Wight, powerful striking effects were created using Philips, Osram, Sylvania discharge lamps via moving-head fixtures, adding to the visually impressive and powerful performances of a host of leading artists.
MGC’s wide festival coverage makes them a leader in the provision of lighting for the entertainment industry, a status which Justin Althorpe
