MGC sets scene at National Sea Life Centre
International lighting distributor, MGC Lighting, helped to set the scene for the new Mangrove Swamp and Turtle Sanctuary at The National Sea Life Centre in Birmingham by providing efficient and effective LED fixtures to accentuate the new turtle displays.
MGC supplied Tryka’s Module 36; an ideal RGB IP67 rated fixture for large indoor and outdoor projects which was used to emphasize the main focal points of the display, giving new dimension, colour and a captivating look.
Module 3 Easy-Link™ fixtures using RJ45 connectors for quick and easy installation were used in small and tight areas where space was an issue. These compact LEDs installed perfectly and gave projected light where it was needed to lighten darker areas.
Module 12 In-ground LED fixtures were also used, these are complete with a versatile bracket to enable the unit to be tilted and swivelled in any direction giving an advantage to point the LED to an exact angle for the project which was a perfect addition to highlight key areas within the exhibits.
Commenting on the project, Kevan Stiff, UK Sales Area Manager at MGC, said: “The customer wanted the displays to have a 3D effect which was achieved with the Tryka fixtures, these really suited the application. MGC have had a long relationship with the National Sea Life Centre, so it was our pleasure to be involved in this project. The LED fixtures really made the new exhibits come alive. ”
